NinetySix is designed for officers across the United States. Its reference collections are jurisdiction-specific and bounded by the sources that have been indexed. A state or city appearing in the jurisdiction selector does not mean every statute, local rule or violation is included.
Start with where the incident occurred. Review the displayed coverage information and choose the relevant category or law when those filters are available. State traffic law, a local ordinance, parking rules and an administrative summons schedule can use different identifiers and procedures.
If no indexed result matches, try a shorter phrase or consult the jurisdiction’s official source. A missing match is not proof that no applicable provision exists.

Confirm the full citation, subsection and jurisdiction. Open the official-source link and review the current text, definitions and exceptions. Check any source or verification date shown on the record; it describes the reference, not a guarantee that the law has remained unchanged.
Do not treat similar descriptions as interchangeable offenses. Reference coverage also does not establish summons-form eligibility, a charging decision, or the proper hearing forum. Use current department guidance and the instructions on the official document.
